Catalyst is very proud to be supporting the 2017 Screen Stars of Tomorrow initiative which shines a spotlight on up and coming filmmaking and acting talent who are set to make waves in the industry.

This year’s group, selected from hundreds of candidates, will be toasted at a special event tonight as part of the BFI London Film Festival. Catalyst can’t wait to celebrate with them!

Actors previously identified as Stars of Tomorrow include Benedict Cumberbatch (2004), Eddie Redmayne (2005), John Boyega (2011) and Florence Pugh (2016). Previous Filmmaker Stars of Tomorrow include Andrea Arnold (2004), Abi Morgan (2005), Tom Harper (2006) and Andrew Haigh (2008). So we are excited for great things to come from this year’s Stars.

Clare Stewart, director of the BFI London Film Festival, said: “The BFI London Film Festival is thrilled to once again partner with Screen International in presenting the 2017 Screen UK & Ireland Stars of Tomorrow and I warmly congratulate this year’s participants. The future of film and the success of our industry is dependent on fostering innovation, leading the charge on diversity and inclusion and creating opportunities for new and emerging filmmakers and Screen Stars is a vital platform for profiling the brightest new British and Irish talent.”
